It couldn't get any worse by Fear359 (f, qs) It couldn't have started out any better for Judy. She had just won her high school tennis championship, in singles, and doubles, she got a scholarship to the University Of North Carolina, and she just left a party with her boyfriend and they were on their way to Look Out Hill. Look Out Hill was nothing more than a hill that over looked the city, and where kids drank beer and had sex. "Billy, where are we going?" "Come on Judy, where do you think we're going? To Look Out Hill! You got a problem with that?" "Well, as a matter fact I do. Why do we always have to go there? Why can't we go somewhere different? I get a little tired of making out, and you always try to get into my pants! Why can't we go out for pizza, or just hang out like we used to?" "Are you telling me that you don't want to make out with me anymore? What, are you too good for old Billy now that you are the state tennis champ, and going to North Carolina next year?" "No, I'm not saying that I too good for you. I would just like to do something different, that's all! And besides that, you have been drinking and you promised me that you would stop that!" "Oh, the mighty big shot wants something different. Well, how about if I were to stop and let you drive, and that way you could drive us to anywhere you wanted to go!" "Fine, pull over and I'll drive!" Billy pulled over on the dirt road, put the car in park and opened the door. Judy opened her door and got out, and started to walk around the back of the car. But Billy jumped back in the car, put it in gear and took off in a cloud of smoke, leaving Judy somewhere standing in the middle of it. "Alright, Miss tennis star! Let's see how you like them apples! I just drive up to Look Out Hill and wait for you to show up! And by then you'll want to make out with me!" "BILLY! Damn it, Billy! You stupid bastard! Come back here! BILLY!" As Judy watched the tail lights disappear in the darkness she knew that going out with Billy was another mistake that she was going to correct once she left this town. Once she got to UNC she could find a real man, a nice man, one that wanted something more than sex. As she thought about what she was going to do, follow the jerk or turn around and go home. It was about a four mile walk, but there was a trail about a mile and a half back, that would take off at least two miles and would put her just outside of town. After looking back towards Look Out Hill she didn't want to see Billy, not in his present state. So she turned back towards town and started walking. Judy was glad that she had her sneakers on. At least she wasn't in heels out here, that would be a major pain in the ass. At least she could walk in comfort, and if she had to start running, she wouldn't have to run barefoot through God knows what. The dirt road that she was walking on ran beside and through a swamp. Not that she was scared, she had been in the swamp many times with her friends, fishing, camping and playing hide and go seek, so that wasn't the problem. The problem was that she was out here by herself, and even though she could hold her own against anyone, what would happen if there were two to her one? With that thought in her mind she began to walk a little faster, until she came upon the small dense trail that lead right through the swamp, and came out a quarter of a mile from town. Judy wished she had a flashlight or even a lighter to light the way back. All she could do was use the light from the moon that was out, but as she got deeper into the swamp the light from the moon was slowly disappearing, until there was nothing but darkness. Judy walked into spider webs twice, and started screaming like she was trapped. She hit at the webs that were in her face until they were gone, and then she kept on walking. She could hear water on her left, so that meant that she was somewhere in the middle of the swamp. The water near town didn't run that fast, because of the run off that was built to take the water other places. As Judy came down the trail she stepped on a rock that rolled when she put her full weight on it and down she went grabbing her ankle after she hit the ground. "Damn it, that hurt! Crap! I think that I sprained it. Billy, I was gonna give you another chance, but after this you can go to hell for all I care! I hope that I can walk on this ankle!" As Judy got up, and put pressure on her left ankle to see if she could make it back home, the pain was there, but it was nothing that she couldn't handle. So she continued on walking. As she came to a fork in the road she didn't remember this right fork at all. And as she looked to her left she could see the lights of town off in the distance. So with that she started walking down the left trail and was making good time despite the twisted ankle she was walking on. As Judy walked on she could feel the ground getting softer with each step that she took. Judy stopped and took a few steps back, and bent down to touch the ground to see how muddy it was. Noticing that the ground was wet and muddy, she decided to cut to her left and go through the grass until she could pass the mud. No sense in getting her sneakers dirty and muddy when she didn't have to. Judy made her way to the left and through the grass, and once she felt that she had gone far enough she stepped back onto the trail and started walking again. Judy took her fifth step when her right foot slipped underneath the mud, and her forward motion caused her left foot to follow the right one. As Judy tried to pull her feet free she had this funny feeling that she was sinking. And as she looked down, she could see that she /was/ sinking. "Shit! New sneakers covered in mud, boyfriend is an asshole, and I'm stupid for being here. All I have to do is pull one foot out, and then the other one and I can be on my way. Ah, ah! Come on, come on! I know you're not that deep in there! Come on, will ya! Whoa, hey wait a minute! What's going on?" Judy felt the mud beneath her feet turn to mush, and she started to sink in deeper. "Hey! What the hell is going on here? I can't get - ah - can't get out of this mucky mess! It feels like ... Oh shit! Quicksand! Billy, please! If you're out there, please help me! I'm sinking in quicksand and can't get out! Please, anyone! Help me!" Judy struggled with all her might, and even though she had so strong legs, the quicksand proved to be a little bit stronger. It sucked her in to her knees, and the more she struggled the deeper she sank. The quicksand pulled her to her waist in a matter of minutes, because Judy wouldn't stop struggling to get free. "Would you stop already? I don't want to sink anymore! Please, stop it! I said /stop it!/" The quicksand pulled Judy in waist deep, and then she could feel the quicksand pointing her toes downward. She thought that would help so she lets the quicksand do it, and then that way she should be able to slide herself right out. "That's right, quicksand! Go ahead and point my feet downwards. That way I can slide right out of here. I don't know why I didn't think of that before!" As Judy tried to pull her legs up and out she found out why the quicksand pointed her feet downwards. "Ah, shit! Stop it! You tricked me! Now I'm sinking even faster than before! Somebody, please help me! I'm trapped in some kind of quicksand and I need help! Please somebody!" Judy tried everything that she knew to get out, but everything that she did only drove her in the quicksand that much deeper. The quicksand pulled her in to her chest, and she tried to get her feet back level, but the quicksand would have no part of that. And with every move that Judy made the quicksand swallowed more and more of her. When the quicksand pulled her in to her neck Judy knew that she was going to die if someone didn't come to her rescue, and soon. "HELP ME! Somebody, please! I'm sinking in quicksand! Can anyone hear me? Please! Somebody! I need help!" The quicksand pulled Judy under in forty-five seconds, and the town would never know what happened to her. They will think that Billy killed her and buried her somewhere in the swamp. No one would ever know the truth of how Judy cried, and screamed for help, but there was no one around to hear her cries for help.
