Passion for Danger by Fear359 (f/m, qs) Out of all the bets and dares Kristy took, this one was about the most stupid. Not only was she way out of her league with this one; she was in danger, and she knew it. But for some strange reason that just made her want to do this even more. You see: Kristy Rainey is a thrillseeker, who will prove anything to anyone, that she can hang with the best of them. Danger, is no problem for Kristy; she has to prove herself to everyone she meets. It all started yesterday, when she overheard some guys saying, that they went out into Dead Swamp, and made it all the way through in just under four hours, and that no one could beat that! Kristy had to open her mouth and say, that she could do it, and when the guys turned around and looked at who said it, and saw this 5' 10" sexy redhead standing in front of them, they started to laugh. And that just made Kristy that much more mad, and so she bet them, that she could make it through Dead Swamp in less than four hours. So the four guys took the bet and told Kristy to meet them in the morning at 0900 at the trail leading into Dead Swamp. "Kristy, I don't think that this is such a hot idea. You know what I mean?" "Look Missy. Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean that I can't do this!" "I know that Kristy, but we are talking about Dead Swamp here! This isn't something that you should be taking lightly! That place is very dangerous, and not too many people have come out after going in there!" "Missy, I know that! But if those four knuckleheads can make it through, then it would be a piece of cake for me. And I don't want to hear anymore about it, alright Missy?" "Yeah, okay! But don't say I didn't warn you!" And with that Missy walks out the door and leaves Kristy alone. "I'll show it the four little punks! It took four of them to make it through Dead Swamp, but I'll do it alone!" Kristy goes to bed, and thinks about tomorrow morning, her alone in Dead Swamp. Maybe this wasn't surely a hot idea, Kristy thinks, but that thought is only in her head for a few moments. And then she turns out the lights and goes to sleep. * Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! "Oh man! Time to get up already? Oh well, let's get this over with, so I can put those little boys in there place!"  Kristy gets out of bed and hops in the shower. After drying off, she puts on a pair of blue jeans and short sleeve shirt and her hitop crosstrainers, and heads to the kitchen to get something to eat. After a quick breakfast she is out the door and is on her way to meet the boys at the entrance to Dead Swamp."This is gonna be great! Putting those jerks in their place, once and for all!" As Kristy comes around the corner she sees Dave, Mike, Joe, and Tommy, all waiting for her. Kristy parks her car, steps out and walks over to them, as Dave speaks, "Well, so glad that you could make it. We didn't think that you would show up. We thought that you would change your mind, and say that it's too dangerous!" "Not on your life Dave! You four walk around like you own this down and can do anything and everything. Well boys, 'm here to tell you that I can do anything you can do!" "Well, then as they say: Let's get this show on the road, shall we, Kristy? You have 4 hours or less to make it through Dead Swamp!" "I know Dave. 4 hours. That shouldn't be a problem for me. But for the four of you I know, why it took a long time. It's because none of you have a full brain of your own, and the four of you together only make one brain!" And with that Kristy leaves the four just standing there, as she makes her way into dead swamp. "Just remember Kristy! You only have four hours!" Kristy doesn't even look back. She just pops them a finger and keeps on walking. "Maybe I should have told them, that I used to play in here when I was a kid? No, that would have spoiled it for me! Well, better get this into high gear and move it!" As a little girl Kristy and her friends used to play in Dead Swamp all the time, and everytime she would come home covered in mud, and for that she would get a spanking. But that never stopped her. Each time she would go a little deeper into the swamp, checking it out more and more. But for some strange reason she stopped coming into the swamp, and she was trying to remember, why. Ah, yes! Boys! She was about 12 or 13 when she got her first crush, but when Steven found out that she liked to play in the swamp he wanted nothing to do with her. That broke Kristy's heart, and she stopped going into Dead Swamp. And then one day she overheard some kids saying that girls were afraid to do this, and afraid to do that. Well, that did it for Kristy. Ever since that day she has been out to prove herself to the world, that girls can do anythng that boys can do. "Man, oh man! I forgot how hot it gets in here! Well, can't worry about that now. Gotta keep moving, gotta beat that time of four hours." As Kristy stops to pull out her map of the swamp, she can see how it has changed over the years. But she thinks that the more things change, the more they stay the same. An hour into the walk Kristy finds what she is looking for: a small dense trail that leads right by a stream, that will cut at least an hour off her time. "Ah, there you are! I hope that you haven't changed that much in all these years. But if you have, there is nothing that I cannot handle!" Kristy heads to the trail and sees a few spiders and snakes, but they don't bother her, and she is not about to bother them. Kristy makes it to the stream in about forty- five minutes, and looks to her right, and then her left, and going by what she remembers. She goes left and starts walking along the stream bed. As it turns to the right Kristy comes right upon an alligator sunning itself on the shore. It looks at her, but does not move, and Kristy decides to go through the trees, and not leave anything to chance. "Well, hello there, Mr. Gator! You stay right there and don't move, and I'll just go this way, and you won't see me anymore. Alright?" As Kristy goes through the trees the gator turns around and slides back into the water. "Now how do you like that? I go out of my way to go around you, and you get back into the water. Gotta be a male gator!" As Kristy laughs to herself she marches on, when she looks at her watch. "Ha! Half way through, and I still have over two hours left! This is gonna be a piece of cake!" As Kristy continues on her track, she comes up to a part of the swamp that she has never seen before, and a little confused she stops and pulls out her map. "Hey, what is this? I don't remember this! Where did this stream come from?" The stream that Kristy was talking about was about twenty feet across and at least a mile long. "Man! Now how am I gonna get over that? If I have to follow this thing down to the end I am gonna lose a lot of time!" Kristy decides to just swim across it, until she sees an alligator in the water. "Well, I think that I'll go ahead and lose a little time. Beats losing my life!" Kristy walks for about a half a mile, and the water is slowly dropping to the point that she can see the bottom. But still not wanting to take any chances, she continues on up the stream trail, and after about a mile the water just stops. Kristy looks at her watch, and sees that she has lost an hour, and only has 1 hour left to make it the rest of the way. She walks across to where the stream was, and gets to the other side, and she finds a small trail that leads in the direction that she needs to go. Like a bolt of lightning Kristy takes off down the trail, trying to beat that time is the only thing on her mind. As the trail goes to the left, Kristy caught the glimse of the sign as she went running by it. But by the time the words sunk in her brain, she had already run full speed into quicksand. "No! This can't be happening! Not now, not quicksand!" Kristy pulled on her legs to free them, but it was no use she was in too deep, and too far in to reach solid ground. The more she moved her legs, the deeper she sank. "HELP ME! SOMEBODY, HELP ME! I'M TRAPPED IN QUICKSAND! SOMEBODY, PLEASE!" The quicksand slowly clamps down on Kristy's knees, and she knew that if she didn't get out right then, and now, she was done for! Kristy tried to lift her legs as high as she could, but each time she did, the quicksand just took more or the other one. Kristy tried to lay flat and work herself out of it, but she was just to deep, and all the thrashing around that she had done, turned the quicksand into a runny, soupy, sticky mess, that she just couldn't get out of. "PLEASE, SOMEONE HELP ME! I CAN'T GET OUT OF THIS QUICKSAND, AND I'M BEING PULLED IN! HELP!" The quicksand pulls Kristy down to her neck, and all she can do now is wait forthe end. Then out of nowhere, Kristy hears a voice, "Kristy! Where are you? Kristy! I know I heard your voice! Now, where are you?" "Steven, is that you? Steven! I'm trapped in some quicksand and I can't get out! PLEASE GOD, HELP ME!" As Steven comes around the corner he can see Kristy up to her neck in the quicksand. "Kristy! Don't move, don't breathe! I'm going to throw you a rope, alright?" "Okay, Steven! Just hurry!" As Steven throws Kristy the rope she grabs it, and Steven begins to pull with everything that he has, and the harder he pulls the more he can see of Kristy's body, until finially he can grab her and pull her to solid ground. "What in the hell is your problem, Kristy? Do you think that you have to prove yourself to every Tom, Dick, and Harry, that comes along? You could have died in there, if it wasn't for Missy!" "What does Missy have to do with this?" "She came by my house last night but I was out of town, and didn't get back in until this morning. And she told me wha t you were planning to do. But by the time I got here you had already been gone for about an hour and a half, so I came in looking for you!" "Steven, why? What made you come in here and look for me? You don't even know this place like I do!" "Kristy, I know this swamp better than you think, I come out here all the time. I do a lot of fishing out here, and it seems to me that I have caught a very big, and very muddy fish. Should I keep it or throw it back?" "I say, you keep me for all times!" "If I keep you, than you have to knock off this 'what guys can do, I can do better' attitude!" "But ... but ..." "Kristy, no buts! There is one thing I know that women can do better than guy!" "Oh yeah? What's that!" "Have babies! Now tell me Kristy, have you ever seen a man give birth to a baby?" "Well, no but Steven guy can't have babies!" "Right, that's something that you women can do, but men can't!" "Oh Steven, take me home, please!" "Kristy, what about your time to beat? You can still do it if you want to." "If it's all the same to you Steven, I'll just go home with you and leave the stupid stuff to the stupid people. Let's go home!"
