The Trap by Fear359 (f/f, qs, grim) Debbie woke up from her deep sleep and thought, 'What the hell! I'll do it! I don't need him anyway!" Walking down the hall she picked up the phone and called her friend Kim. When Kim answered the phone Debbie told her that she was going to do it and that she would need some help finding the best spot. Kim told her that she had to do some running around and would be at her place around noon. Then Kim asked Debbie, if she really wanted to ge through with this. Debbie said that she was sick and tired of Mike always working and not having any time for her. Yeah, he had a very good job, made lots of money and took very good care of her. She wanted to go out every night an had have some fun, but Mike was either to tired or had a damn deadline to meet. Not much of a marriage in Debbie's book. She could find someone who wanted to go out and have fun, but she didn't want to lose all that money and the life she was used to having. So she was talking to Kim one day, and Kim came up with the idea to kill Mike, and then Debbie would be free, for a price! "Everything in life has a price," Kim told her. Debbie was shocked at first, she could never kill someone. But Kim told her that about 5 miles away were some very serious bogs and quicksands that they could lead Mike into and then come back and say that he fell into some quicksand. "We couldn't reach him in time!" And they would both be the richer, and they both could do what they wanted to. It only took Debbie a week to think things through, and she was up for the quest. So the plan went into action. Debbie said that she would wait for her, and together they would plan Mike's death. When they hung up, Debbie felt a kind of charge go through her body. She was going to get rid of her husband and get rich in the process! She smiled to herself, and thought, 'Life, it don't get any better than this!" And with that Debbie went and got in the shower. When she got out and dried herself off, she put on a pair of blue jeans, a long sleeve shirt and a pair of blue reeboks. She went into the living room and sat down and waited for noon to get here, but it was only 9:00 am. So she turned on the TV, hoping that would make the time go by that much quicker. After flipping through the channels, and couldn't find anything worth watching, she turned off the TV, and then a thought hit her. 'Why do I need Kim to help me kill Mike? She will only want more money, and if I don't give it to her, she will turn me in! I'll go out there myself and find what I need. Then I can kill two birds with one stone!" So she jumpped up, grabbed her keys to her truck, and went to the garage to find some rope, and some other things that she would need, and in about 10 minutes she was on the road heading for the place known as "No Return Forest". That's what everyone called it because it was riddled with pockets of quicksand, and many a person had never been seen again, because of that forest. If you stay on the trails then you are fine. But once you get off the trails you could be in trouble As Debbie got closer to the forest she got a little scared. But then she thought, 'What the hell! I have to do this!' She got out of the truck and took off walking. She noticed that the forest was huge and a little scary, but she pressed on. Then the trail she was on just stopped and the sign at the end of the road read, 'DANGER! BOGS AND QUICKSANDS AHEAD! ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK'. Debbie thought for a minute, and then stepped over the small railing and entered the darkest part of the forest. She picked up a very long stick and tested the ground every so often, so she wouldn't be the one who would die in some God forsaken quicksand bog. She walked for about a 1/2 mile, and the ground was slowly changing to a soft mud. She looked down and saw that her reeboks were really getting muddy. So she stopped and backed up to a tree that she had just passed, and dropped the bag that she had brought with her. She took out a very long rope and tied it around the tree and made sure that it was tied tight. She then tied the other end around her waist and then proceeded to go straight on. The mud was soft but not bad or deep. She had about another 15 feet of rope, when all of a sudden her left foot sank in up to her calf. With a half started cry she fell forward, hitting the mud with full impact. The muck and mud was very cool and calmly took her up to her waist in no time. Debbie was screaming for help but remembered that she had a rope around her waist, and so she decided to see if this was truely the quicksand that she was looking for, or if it was just a semi deep mud hole. She kept on sinking, and when it was up to her neck she knew that it was quicksand. Now the hard part: getting out of this death trap. It took some time but she was able to get out and up on dry land. She just sat there, and was panting hard, and the whole time she was just looking at the quicksand in front of her. She found a trap not only for Mike, but for Kim as well. She reached in her bag and pulled out her watch to see what time it was. 'Only 10:30. I have to map out how I am going to get Kim in there. Maybe if I go around to the other side and check things out.' Debbie untied the rope, and very carefully made her way to the other side, without the rope around her waist. If she fell in this time it would be all over. She made her way to the other side and found what she was hoping to find. As she was pooking she stick around, it went form hard ground to a deep pit of quicksand. As Debbie pushed the stick down, it went down all the way. She pulled out the branch and was ready for the plan to be put into action. She would go home, take a shower and wait for Kim, come out here in Kim's car, lead her into this quicksand, ditch her car somewhere and then bring Mike out here for the same fate. Still covered in muck and mud Debbie wrote down on a piece of paper the location of the quicksand and how to get out without getting trapped herself. After finding her way back to the truck she went down to the river to get cleaned up and went home. When she got home it was 11:30 so she ran into the house, took another shower and got dressed into another pair of jeans, another long sleeve shirt and a pair of gold colored Reeboks. She then went into the living room and waited for Kim. About 12:02 Kim knocked on the door. When Debbie opened the door she saw Kim, wearing a pair of black jeans, a long sleeve T-Shirt and a pair of hiking boots. Debbie let her in and they both sat down on the couch and talked for about 10 minutes. Kim told Debbie that it would cost her 20,000 dollars to shut her up and Debbie said, "Only 20,000? Fine with me." Kim said that she wasn't greedy but just needed enough money to get her over so she could make a new start somewhere else. Debbie thought, 'Yeah, your're gonna make a new start somewhere, but it won't be where you think it is, and I will keep all the money for myself!' Kim asked if Debbie was ready to go. Debbie said, "Yes", and they left the house, jumpped into Kim's car and took off for what they both knew was called "No Return Forest." So far Debbie's plan was working. They were in Kim's car, and after she got Kim to sink in the quicksand she would ditch her car somewhere in the woods and walk home and wait for Mike. After all it was only 5 miles and she was in very good shape. They drove in silence, both of them in their own world, both thinking about money and all the fun they would have with it. As Kim turned off the main road and headed for the forest the road, which was now dirt, got very bumpmy and Debbie looked at Kim, and said, "You need to get a truck." Kim smiled and said, "Maybe with the money I get from you, I'll get one." They both just laughed. Kim stopped the car and got out, went to the trunk and opened it and took out a very large bag. Debbie got out on the other side and came to the back of the car, and asked, what was in the bag. Kim told her that it was things that they would need, like rope, maps, and some extra clothes that they might have to change into. As Kim closed the trunk they took off the way Debbie had been earlier in the day, and when they got to the sign Kim looked over at Debbie and said, "If you want to change your mind don't even think about it! Now we are in this up to our necks, and I don't want to loose that 20,000 dollars now!" Debbie looked at her with that 'you have got to be kidding' look and said, "Look, I want him dead, and that's that! You will get your money, and we will both be happy. Don't worry, I ain't backing out of nothing." Kim said, "Alright, then! Let's go." As they both stepped over the railing Kim told her that she would lead, because she knows where she is going and Debbie didn't. Debbie just smiled and said, "Sounds good to me. I don't want to get stuck in some quicksand bog and die!" As Kim led the way Debbie had to find a way to get Kim to go the way she wanted her to go, without Kim knowing that Debbie was leading her into a trap of her own. They walked for what seemed like hours, but it was only about 45 minutes, and then the idea hit Debbie. 'If I tell her I have to stop and catch my breath I can make my move.' - "Kim, I have to stop! Can we at least rest for a while?" "Alright. You wait here, and when you get you second wind you can catch up to me. I'm gonna go scout up ahead. We are very close to some quicksand, and there is some about a 1/2 mile up this trail to the left. So do me a favor: Stay to the right of the trail." And with that Kim took off walking again. Debbie just watched her walk away and into the forest, and when she couldn't see her anymore Debbie got up and looked around and got her bearings, and she started walking for her trap. After about 5 minutes she couldn't find it, so she reached in her back pocket and pulled out her map and then started walking again. Then she found what she was looking for. 'Now, how do I get Kim into the quicksand?' Debbie looked around for some kind of plan and then she got one. She put her map down and picked up some small weeds. And then she laid down in some mud and started screaming. "Kim! Kim! Oh God, help me! I got lost! I went to the bathroom, got on the wrong trail, and now I'm trapped in some quicksand! Please, God! Help me!" "Debbie, where are you? Keep shouting and I'll find you!" "Kim, hurry! It's up to my knees and I can't seem to pull my legs out! The more I struggle the deeper I sink!" "That's why they call it quicksand! Now, where are you? And try to be still, will you?" Debbie could tell that Kim was close by and all she had to do was just keep screaming and hope that Kim came the way the Debbie wanted her to. Debbie looked up and saw Kim through the trees, and she thought to herself, 'Yes! Come Kim, just a little closer and then you are mine!' "Debbie, where are you?" "Kim! I can see you! You are close! Can you see me? I am just behind these bushes! I grabbed them but they are slowly coming out of the ground! For God's sake, hurry!" "Yes, I see you! I'll be right there!" Debbie thought, 'You got that part right, but it won't be to save me." Kim was running at full speed when all of a sudden the ground just gave way under her. The mud grabbed her up to her knees and her bag went flying out of her hand and landed about 10 feet from her. "Shit! Debbie, now we're both trapped in quicksand! All because you had to be an idiot and get lost!" What Kim saw next sent a cold shiver down her spine. Debbie got up and slowly walked around to the edge of the quicksand. "You bitch! Your weren't trapped!" Debbie just smiled and said, "No, but you are." "But why, Debbie? I only wanted to help you. Why do this to me?" "Because you wouldn't be happy with just the 20,000 dollars! You would want more, and more. And I want all the money. It belongs to me, that's why!" As Kim continues to struggle the quicksand takes more of her body, until it has her up to her chest. Debbie tells her that it's no use. That pit is deeper than she is, and that the more she fights it the quicker it will be. "Debbie, you'll get yours! And I'm sorry to say that I won't be around to see it!" "Oh, no, Kim! That's where you are wrong. I have it all planned out. After you sink I'll go ditch your car somewhere, maybe a little farther in the woods, and make it look like a car jacking. And then all I have to do is get Mike out here and get the quicksand to suck him down. And I'm in the clear with everything." "You Bitch! I hope that you rot in hell for this!" The quicksand is now up to Kim's lovely neck, and she knows that there is no escape from this trap. As she tilts her head back she can see Debbie waving bye-bye, and then the quicksand slowly covers Kim's face. Debbie stands there and waits for about 10 minutes just to make sure that Kim truely dead. Satisfied that the quicksand has done it's job she starts walking back to the trail, so she can get back to Kim's car. As she turns the corner to the trail a light rain has started to fall and a light fog is starting to come down. Debbie reaches in her back pocket and to her surprise her map is not there. 'Shit! I left it back there!' So she turns around and goes back to get her only way out of the forest. Returning to get her map she picks it up and looks in horror as she sees that the ink of the pen, that she used to make her map, runs when it gets wet. Now truly mad she knows, she can get out without the map. She just has to take her time and be careful. After 15 minutes of walking she knows that she is lost and has no idea of where she is. 'If only I could have gotten Kim's bag. With all the maps I would be home free.' Debbie knew that she had to find a trail that somehow looked familiar, so she could get out of there. She looked at her watch. 4:00 pm, she had been lost for almost 2 hours now, and she had to find the way out fast. Debbie was leaning up against a tree, when she happened to look down and saw a foot print. It looked like a boot print, one like Kim's, so she followed it and then she found another one up the trail. And then she knew where she was: It was the trail that Kim had gone down when Debbie needed to take a rest. "Kim, you rot in hell! I found the trail and I'm outta here!" As Debbie started walking down the trail she remembered what Kim had told her: "Stay to the right of the trail." And with that Debbie got on the right side of the trail and started walking. She was so happy with herself that she didn't see the little hole on the side of the road, and when her right foot hit it she stumbled to the right, slipped in the slick mud and skidded off the trail into a small clearing. Debbie laughed and stood up, but her laugh soon turned into terror, when she looked down and saw that her feet were buried in some very soft clinging mud. She tried to lift her right foot, then her left. Nothing. She tried twisting and turning, but that did no good. And then she thought about what Kim had said: "Stay to the right, there is quicksand to the left of the trail." Well, Debbie wasn't worried, because she was to the right of the trail. And then without warning the mud very quickly started to pull Debbie in, and it was so quick, that all Debbie could do was keep pulling on her legs. And then it hit her like a ton of bricks: 'Kim said "right". I was walking to the car, I was on the left!' That's when Debbie started to tug at her legs like crazy, and all that did was give the quicksand more and more of her to play with. Debbie started crying and trying to grab some kind of solid ground, but there was none. That's when she started screaming, "Help me! Please, somebody! I'm trapped in quicksand!" The quicksand had her up to her waist, and when she tried to lean forward the quicksand took her up to chest just that quick. Debbie was crying, screaming, and still struggling, knowing what would happen. When the quicksand had Debbie up to her neck she tilted her head back and looked up at the sky and asked, "God, why? Why me? What did I do to die like this?" Debbie felt the quicksand into her ears, and when she went to scream the quicksand entered her mouth, and with her hand reached for the sky hoping that someone might save her at the last minute. Then her hand sank into the deadly morass and then a few bubbles came to the surface. And then it was still. About 8:00 pm that night Mike came home and looked through the house for his wife. And when he couldn't find her he packed up his suitcase and left some paperwork of the bed for her, and then he left. The paperwork was asking her for a divorce, because neither one of them was happy, and he was going to give her half of everything.
