![]() Taral Wayne, writing about himself, says that he is a middle-aged artist who has resided all his life in Toronto, Ontario. Mainly known for his "furry" art in some quarters, he has been associated with science fiction and fantasy fandom since 1971. Six times he was nominated for a Hugo as a fanartist, SF fandom's highest. (Six loses, no wins.) He's dabbled in book and magazine illustration, and worked in comics. (His own book, Beatrix, ran only for three issues before the black & white comic implosion decimated the field, but Taral has had a number of short stories published in other comics as well.) While he has done what he prefers to call "niche" art (rather than "fetish" art) for quite a long while, it has only been appearing in public over the last three or four years. A new addition to the WAM art in this gallery, Taral is introducing this year a new "niche" -- a petrifaction or statuephile page. The address will be added as soon as available. The artist cautions viewers that the vast majority of the drawings in this gallery are mere sketches or doodles drawn in spare moments for his own amusement, though some have been touched up in Photoshop at a later date for uploading. The gallery doesn't doesn't select from anything Taral thinks of as his "serious" work. For a glimpse at some of that he suggests viewing his gallery pages on Fur Affinity.
